Bellars Motor Works is an Independent company of fully trained technicians who specialise in the service & maintenance of BMW, Mini & Mercedes.
Our highly trained & dedicated technical team of 5 have only worked on BMW, Mini & Mercedes and they are amongst the most experienced you will find. Our staff range from a 2nd year apprentice to having one of the very few BMW Master Technicians in NZ .
Our Staff
Ken started his apprenticeship in Wellington working on Jaguar & Rolls Royce, and after a few years having worked his way up to a senior position within the company he decided it was time to head off to the UK in 1987. NZ Technicians were highly regarded & sought after in England at the time and he had the pick of a few positions but ended up employed by London’s Premier BMW Workshop – Cooper Bishopsgate. This was the beginning of many years spent learning much of what there is to know about BMW. Returning to NZ 9 years later he was employed by Jerry Clayton BMW where he quickly rose to the position of Workshop Foreman. After many years of working within Dealerships and becoming frustrated with how things worked Ken & wife Tania decided to take the plunge and run their own Independent BMW workshop. Using Ken’s extensive BMW knowledge & desire to offer great personal customer service at a fair price & Tania’s accounting & sales background they purchased Bellars Motor Works in August 2005 and haven’t looked back.
Paul completed his apprenticeship in England and spent many years working on BMW there before coming to NZ with his family about 16 years ago. With his experience Paul ended up working at Jerry Claytons as a technician where he went on to become one of the very few BMW Master Technicians and represented NZ in Germany in the finals. Paul has spent many years working on the top BMW models and his specialty is in the diagnosis of electronic faults.
Slavey completed his apprenticeship in Macedonia, and spent 12 years working in the main BMW/Mini dealership there. He immigrated to New Zealand with his wife & 2 children just over 2 years ago and we have been lucky enough to have him join our team. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and up to date dealer experience.
Sam came to us directly from UNITEC and has now completed his apprenticeship after having worked with us over the last 5 years soley on BMW, Mini & Mercedes. Sam loves the older BMWs and owns a 1987 BMW Motorsport E30 which he has spent many hours on restoring it.
Nick is in his 2nd year of his apprenticeship. He joined us after having just graduated at the top of his class in a 12 month UNITEC course on Automotive & Mechanical Engineering.
Tania looks after the office Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9-3pm
Gill joined us in March of this year and has had many years experience in the Motor Trade, she will be looking after the office Tuesdays & Thursdays 9-3 & when Ken & Tania are on leave.
